Disability and Deaf Arts South West
Disabled and Deaf Audiences: Home PageBSL translation by Remark! Translation http://www.remark.uk.com/
Ever had trouble accessing a performance or exhibition? Keen to find out more about Disability Arts or arts and disability?
As a disabled-led organisation, we are experts in the needs of disabled people. We recognise that disabled and Deaf people may often face barriers when wishing to participate in the arts as audience members.
We also recognize the power of the arts as a tool for social and cultural change and that art from a disability perspective can change minds. We want to celebrate the high quality, innovative work produced by disabled people.
Whether you enjoy art that is made by disabled or Deaf people or want better access to mainstream arts events, we are here to remove barriers and ensure equal access for all.
Use this site to find out what disability-related arts activities are going on in the south west and how you can access them.
We also offer the following services:
• A telephone enquiry service • Information and advice • Signposting • Fortnightly e-bulletins covering news, events and opportunities Find out more about Kaleido in the ‘about us’ section Contact us with your views or questions, to sign up to receive our e-bulletin or register your interest in our current project plans
